Dr. Kevin CarlsonMD FRCSC DABU Urologic Surgery
Dr. Carlson graduated from medical school at the University of British Columbia. He completed his urology residency at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and fellowship training in pelvic reconstructive surgery, voiding dysfunction, neuro-urology, and urodynamics at New York University Medical Center in New York City. He is currently Clinical Assistant Professor and Chief of Urology in the Department of Surgery at the University of Calgary and Fellowship Director for Reconstructive and Functional Urology. Dr. Carlson is co-founder and director of vesia [Alberta Bladder Centre]. He is also a member of the medical advisory board of the Prostate Cancer Centre and past member of the Continuing Professional Development Committee of the Canadian Urological Association and The Canadian Continence Foundation. He has spearheaded the development of numerous national education programs for physicians, and he has also co-founded a number of internet-based medical education and communication products.
Dr. Carlson is actively involved in clinical and educational research, peer review, and teaching at all levels. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and is co-author of the Canadian Guidelines for Urinary Incontinence. His primary clinical interests include overactive bladder, neurogenic bladder, vaginal and pelvic reconstructive surgery, and vasectomy reversal.

Welcome!
New Patients
Please arrive early for your appointment, as forms may need to be filled out prior to the consultation. Bring a full list of your medications and allergies, and any surgeries you have had in the past. The more you know about your own medical history, the better you will be served.
Cancellation and No-Show Policy
As | As the wait time to be seen in consultation can be very long, each appointment is very important. If you cannot make your appointment time, please call ahead to let us know, and if you cannot make the appointment at all, please advise us at least 24 hours in advance so that we may fill the time. To cancel or re-book, call us at 403.943.8900, extension 2 or email us.
Uninsured Services
Certain services are not insured by Alberta Health and Wellness, and must be paid for by the patient. These include filling out insurance forms, off-work letters, and other paperwork, vasectomy reversal (consult and surgical fee), and circumcision without medical indication. All fees comply with the guidelines set forth by the Alberta Medical Association.

Parking
If you drive, park in the main public parkade in front of Rockyview Hospital, and take the elevator to the 6th floor. (Note: Not all the parkade elevators will take you to the 6th floor and you may have to change elevators.)

Monday – Friday: 8 am until 3:30 pm (closed 12:00-1:00 pm).
Closed on statutory holidays.
Please note that due to the large volume of calls we may not be able to answer your call directly; however, our machine does accept messages and we will answer them within one working day.
Medical Problems and Advice
For non-emergent issues, please contact the office during regular business hours. Whenever possible, we will strive to deal with your problem immediately; however, depending on the timing and nature of your problem, your call may be returned by Dr. Carlson or a representative at a later hour.
